Important Info for School Start Up

Dear Parents & Guardians,
As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and school accessibility, thank you for your support with our updated drop-off and pick-up procedures at CDG. The goals of this process are to:
  • keep emergency lanes clear,
  • ensure our school buses—including those serving students with special transportation or mobility needs—can arrive and depart safely,
  • reduce congestion to improve overall student safety.
The gated loop leading to main entrance will have limited access and is reserved for buses and for vehicles transporting students who require special transportation or have mobility needs. During the first week of school, if you are driving a student with mobility needs, please let the staff member monitoring the entrance know and they will provide access. Also, in that first week, please also visit the office to see Vice-Principal Mrs. Dallas and she will set up a plan tailored to your child and issue a pass for ongoing access as needed.
Those students without mobility needs are asked to walk a short distance across the corner of the field to meet vehicles, which reduces the need to cross busy roads with limited sight lines. Outside the morning and afternoon drop-off/pick-up windows, regular access to all entrances will be in place; we simply ask that vehicles do not block emergency lanes at any time.
This is a working plan. We will monitor how it functions over the first month and make adjustments as needed to ensure the system remains safe, accessible, and as efficient as possible. We welcome your feedback and questions—please feel free to email me directly.

Kind regards,
