Library News
The Adopt a School Fundraiser is ongoing at the Coles Sevenoaks here in Abbotsford. The fundraiser has been extended by another week till October 13th, 2024! Please stop by, check out the student book display hand picked by CDG students, and the beautiful bookmarks hand drawn by our students will be given to all donors visiting the store. Donations continue to be accepted at the store and online at  https://indigoloveofreadingfoundation.givecloud.co/fundraisers/chief-dan-george-middle-school 

This week the library will be selling popcorn bags for $1 at lunch from Wednesday to Friday in order to raise additional funds for the Adopt a School Fundraiser.

Food bank fundraiser
Culture Club is celebrating the theme of gratitude for the month of October and as part of that we are going to express our gratitude for all we have by giving back to those in need. From Oct. 1st-11th we will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the food bank. Food donations will be collected every morning in the MPR starting at 8:00am. Monetary donations can be brought to the MPR in the morning, the office or your child's classroom teacher. The class that donates the most food will win a pizza party.

Neufeld Farms Band Fundraiser
We are very excited for our first band fundraiser of the year!

Neufeld’s offers many different frozen food options for all varieties of people: chicken, beef, vegetarian options, pasta, pizzas, fries, cookie dough, pies, and other delicious items!

The amounts raised will benefit the child selling the product and will go directly into an account at school so they can use this money for their band trip in grade 8 (a band trip is an opportunity for grade 8 students to celebrate and showcase their learned skills in a different location- this year we will be going to Whistler!). Please note 5% of the fundraising will go toward the band program fees for the fundraiser. You will notice that your child’s name will be located in a drop-down menu (in the checkout) to ensure your product, and earnings go toward your child.  If you do not have a child in the band program, please click the ‘Ms. Hutchinson’ drop down.

Please note:

• Orders are due by Wednesday, October 9^th, 2024, end of day.
• The delivery day will be on Friday, October 18^th, 2024, at 2:00pm at Chief Dan George. Please note that the sellers are responsible for picking up their customers' orders and we cannot hold any items in the freezer at school. If you cannot make this date, please arrange with Ms. Hutchinson ahead of time to have an alternate person pick it up.
• Payment is through credit card and there are no extra fees like in previous years for credit card use.

Ordering is open on Munch-a-Lunch for the following PAC hot lunch and treat days:

• November 12: Subway
• December 13: Taco Del Mar

Save time and order for all 3 dates at the same time. Ordering for TCBY closes at midnight on October 10th.
